Wendy Russell

Wendy is a Senior Lecturer in Play and Playwork at University of Gloucestershire and a consultant on children’s play and playwork. She has worked in the playwork sector for over 35 years, on adventure playgrounds and in development work, research, education and training. She has worked with local authorities, the private sector and local, national and international voluntary organisations. Key publications co-authored with Stuart Lester include 'Leopard Skin Wellies, a Top Hat and a Vacuum Cleaner Hose' (Play Wales, 2013), 'Children's Right to Play' (Bernard van Leer Foundation, 2010), 'Play for a Change' (NCB, 2008); she co-edited 'Philosophy of Play' with Emily Ryall and Malcolm McLean (Routledge, 2013).
