Vicky Edwards
Vicky has been working within the playwork sector for
almost 7 years which Vicky fell into quite by mistake following completing A
Levels in 3D Design and Photography as well as various other web design based
courses.
Vicky has worked within different play spaces including
breakfast & afterschool clubs, holiday clubs and more recently at adventure
playgrounds. Whilst working two jobs Vicky still finds time to continue
studying Playwork via distant learning at the University of Gloucestershire.
In 2011 Vicky qualified to Level 3 in Playwork and has
attended many different short courses picking up on new ideas and now attends
most courses to network with other practising playworkers.
Throughout the 7 years Vicky has learnt not just about the
importance of children’s play but has learnt a lot more about herself and the
impact she has within the play space.
Vicky is both a passionate and active person who enjoys her
role mostly when poking a fire (and is often heard being called a pyromaniac),
kicking a football around a field or building a rocket to the moon in
Broadfield. Vicky has a reputation for being a messy and hands on playworker
who brings noise and imagination to every environment she skips into.
Vicky also keeps a blog online where she regularly updates
her site with new stories and thoughts.
