Lynne McDermott
Lynne McDermott is currently working for
the Meynell Games Group as a playwork trainer across the South coast from West
Sussex down to Devon. Lynne delivers training in all areas of Playwork. This
might be a short one off day session to a full Level 3 Diploma. Lynne works on
a regular basis as a playworker at Ocklynge After School Club, Playscheme and
when absolutely necessary works at the Breakfast Club.
Lynne finished her Foundation Degree in
Playwork at Brighton three years ago but still has not decided what step to
take next – any suggestions? Soon Lynne will be back in the learner’s seat as
she will be, one of many trainers, needing to attain an (A1) Assessor Award
which will enable her to extend her training options in keeping up with the new
qualification.
Lynne enjoys attending other conferences
and her favourite is the Beauty of Play where she has the chance not only to
learn but to catch up with other playworkers in an informal setting. Perry is
always the perfect host and makes everybody, from playworkers new to the field
to fellow silverbacks, feel welcome and valued.
In her free time Lynne enjoys meeting up
with friends and sharing good conversation and a bottle or two of red. She has
two dogs and when not in the office she will be found walking them on the beach
or in the forests down in Bournemouth where she recently returned to after
living in Brighton for 20 years.
Lynne will be found most of the tie looking after the Meynell Games Bookseller
