Professor Perry Else Perry Else is well known in the sector for his publications and
contributions on play and playwork, and his presentations in the UK, Europe and
occasionally in the USA. He often adds to ideas from the Play Cycle (Sturrock
and Else 1998) and Integral Play Framework (Else 1999, 2009), and this workshop
is no exception.
His research and teaching interests are the role of the adult in
supporting play, the quality of outdoor experiences for supporting play, and
the effects on play imposed by genetics and from cultural and social
influences.
Perry was awarded the role of Professor of Play Studies in 2013
by Sheffield Hallam University in recognition of his contribution to the
playwork sector. He is currently Chair of the International Play Association
(England, Wales and Northern Ireland), supporters of the child’s right to play.
