NOMINATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED FOR THE 3RD ANNUAL PLAYWORK AWARDS
Category | Explaining the category
1 | A team who has done the most for improving and developing playwork across their area be it county wide, unitary or a borough or district. So it could be a local authority play development team or an early years and extended services department or a leisure and recreation department. It could be a play association or voluntary organisation. So long as they are developing playwork and its related workforce and are an organisational team.
2 | This could be an organisation or an individual who delivers qualification based training programmes, one off CPD type events and short courses or anything in between.
3 | Any individual who has written useful playwork stuff over the last year be it books, articles, websites or training materials.
4 | This is for the group of playworkers who work together to provide space for children’s play. It could be an after school club team, play rangers, adventure playground workers or mobile playworkers. This is not about the best play setting but about the team and the way they work together.
5 | This award is to be given to an individual who has made a significant contribution to the play and playwork sector but who does not fit in to any other award category. This could be a recent contribution, one that has been ongoing for a while or one that is historical. This is not a lifetime achievement award but an award for what could be a single piece of work or project or something that has been happening over a long period or time.
This is a roll call of playworkers and workers, both paid and unpaid, in the sector who have died in the previous year in order to honour their memory and celebrate their life and their contribution to the sector. |
